Rev. Michael Brown serves as pastor of Christ United Reformed Church in Santee, CA. He was ordained as minister of Word and sacraments in the United Reformed Churches of North America on September 19, 2004 at the Escondido United Reformed Church.

He holds a Master of Divinity (2004) and a Master of Arts in Historical Theology (2009), both from Westminster Seminary California. His MA thesis was on the covenant theology of Samuel Petto, with special emphasis on the Mosaic Covenant.

He is the author of Christ and the Condition: The Covenant Theology of Samuel Petto (c.1624-1711) (Grand Rapids: Reformed Heritage Books, forthcoming), editor and contributing author of Called to Serve: Essays for Elders and Deacons (Grandville: Reformed Fellowship, 2007), and has published articles in Banner of Truth, The Outlook, Modern ReformationThe Confessional Presbyterian Journal, and The Mid-America Journal of Theology.

Mike is a native Southern Californian. He did not grow up Reformed, but in the Calvary Chapel movement. He became interested in Reformed theology through the writings of Martyn Lloyd-Jones, J. Gresham Machen, and by “The White Horse Inn” radio program. He has a passion to preach the gospel, teach theology, and help God's people grow in their faith.

Mike and his wife Janie were married in 1990, and have four children: Micaela, Alysia, Isaac and Iain. They live in San Diego.
