For What Truth Would You Be Willing to Die?
In 1561, in protest to violent persecution, Reformed Christians in the Netherlands sent to the Spanish and Roman Catholic King Philip II a copy of the Belgic Confession. Attached was a letter which declared that they were ready to obey the King in all lawful things, but they would not deny the truth they confess: We would rather “suffer our backs to beaten, our tongues to be cut, our mouths to be gagged and our whole bodies to be burnt, for we know that he who would follow Christ must take up his cross and deny himself.”
DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU BELIEVE AND WHY YOU BELIEVE IT?
Many people who profess Christianity cannot answer that question with a ‘yes.’ Don’t be one of them.
"WE CONFESS"
