•I. Memorize HC QQ.1, 2, 3-5, 21, 27, 60, 65, 66, 69
•II. Read HC Lord’s Day 42 and answer the following questions:
•A. Give some specific examples of how one can break the Eighth Commandment. (Please do not quote the catechism; rather, answer in your own words.)
•B. According to HC Q.110, the misuse and waste of God’s gifts is a violation of the Eighth Commandment. Provide some examples of how this can happen. How might we avoid this?
•C. Q.111 says that we must further our neighbor’s good where we can. What does this mean? Provide some examples.
•D. Q.111 says that we are to “labor faithfully” so that we may be able to “help the poor in their need.” What does this mean? Provide some examples.

•B. What is “unchastity?” What does it mean for one to behave in an unchaste manner? How can you seek to live chastely and modestly?
•C. Read Ephesians 5.3-5. What is sexual immorality? Can this sin be committed in different ways?
•D. How can you seek to live chastely and modestly?

•A. Read Matthew chapter 5. According to Jesus, how can you kill someone in your heart?
•B. Read Romans 13.1-7. Explain what HC Q.105 means by these words: “to restrain murder the magistrate is armed with the sword”?
•C. Read Romans 1.18-32 and Galatians 5.19-21. What is the root of murder? Why does God hate it?
•D. According to HC Q.107, does the Fifth Commandment have a positive side to it? How can we seek to keep the Fifth Commandment in our daily living. (Be specific.)
•E. Read Genesis 1.27. What quality do all humans possess that requires us to treat them with dignity and respect?

- II. Read HC Lord's Day 39 and answer the following questions:
- A. Give some specific examples of how you can "show all honor, love, and faithfulness" to your father and mother.
- B. According to HC Q.104, is the Fifth Commandment limited to the honor we show our parents, or is it broader than that? Explain.
- C. Read Romans 13.1-7; 1 Peter 2.18; and Hebrews 13.17-18. Name some authorities in your own life (besides your parents) to whom you must "show all honor, love, and faithfulness."
- D. What does it mean to bear patiently with the infirmities of your parents and those in authority over you?

- II. Read HC Lord's Day 38 and answer the following questions:
A. What is "the day of rest" of which Q.103 speaks? What are we resting from and why? Read Genesis 2.1-3 and incorporate this into your answer.
B. Read Acts 20.7 and 1 Corinthians 16.2. Why did the Christian church begin meeting on the first day of the week instead of the seventh day? In other words, why did the Sabbath move from Saturday to Sunday?
C. According to Q.103, what are the four things we should do on the day of rest?
D. Read Hebrews 4.9-11. What is the everlasting Sabbath of which Q.103 speaks?
E. Describe how the Sabbath is a delight for you personally.
