Creeds and Confessions

  • With Heart and Mouth: An Exposition of the Belgic Confession
    by Daniel R. Hyde

An excellent aid and commentary on the Belgic Confession! Clear and easy to read.

  • Commentary of Dr. Zacharias Ursinus on the Heidelberg Catechism
    by Z. Ursinus

Ursinus was the chief author of the Heidelberg Catechism. Thankfully, his commentary on the catechism is still in print and remains a wealth of sixteenth century Protestant thought. An excellent resource for anyone studying or teaching the Heidelberg Catechism.

  • We Believe
    by Michael Horton

A very helpful commentary from Horton on the most basic of all Christian creeds. Highly recommended for all Christians.

  • Creeds of Christendom
    by Philip Schaff

This is a super-useful resource and well worth the money. If you want a copy of most of the creeds and confessions from the ancient church, Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, and Protestant churches, this is the set to own. Schaff also gives helpful historical information on most of the documents. If for no other reason, get it in order to read the Canons of Trent; you will find out very quickly what you believe and don't believe as a Protestant!
